Police investigate armed robbery at Runcorn

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Runcorn during the early hours of this morning (February 1).

Around 4am a man armed with a machete has threatened a 25-year-old male employee and made demands for money, cigarettes and mobile phones.

The man then fled on foot with a bag of stolen property and was last seen walking south along Gowan Road in Sunnybank Hills.

He is described as having an olive/tanned complexion, around 170cm tall, of a solid build with a New Zealand accent and wearing a black cap, black striped hoodie and black pants.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
