Police investigate Brunswick assault

Brunswick police are investigating after a woman was assaulted in Brunswick last Wednesday (10 July).

Investigators have been told the 70-year-old woman was walking along Edmond Street about 10.15am when she was approached from behind by an unknown male near the intersection of Stewart Street.

The teenager asked the woman for the time before pushing her against a garage door.

He continued to assault her before fleeing the scene empty-handed.

The woman sustained minor injuries.

The offender is perceived as Southern European in appearance and about 16 years old with curly dark hair.

He was wearing black-rimmed glasses, a black top and black shorts, and was possibly carrying a backpack.
