Police investigate car crash at Longwarry

Police are currently at the scene of a car crash that has left a teenage girl with life-threatening injuries at Longwarry this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a white Mercedes sedan was travelling east along Evans Road near Knights Road just after 8.30am.

It is believed the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old Longwarry man, has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

His passenger, a 15-year-old girl from Garfield, has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Cardinia Highway Patrol officers are investigating and are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen the Mercedes prior to the crash.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are also on scene assisting with the circumstances surrounding the crash.
