Police investigate carjacking - Caringbah

As investigations continue into a carjacking that occurred at Caringbah in June this year, detectives have now released still images and vision of a vehicle they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

Detectives from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command commenced Strike Force Weave to investigate the carjacking that occurred in Caringbah on Tuesday 4 June 2019.

About 8pm, a man and a woman attended a commercial premise on Woodfield Boulevarde, to inspect a white Nissan Patrol, NSW registration BF47SC, that had been advertised for sale.

Whilst test driving the Nissan Patrol the man produced a firearm and demanded the owner to get out before driving away.

The man has been described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 25 and 30, about 175-180cm tall with a solid/stocky build and was unshaven. The bridge of man's nose is distinctively bent/crooked. He was wearing work style clothing and what appeared to be a new pair of boots.

The woman has been described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20 and 25, about 165 to 170cm tall with a thin build and fair/pale skin. She had shoulder length brown or dark colour dyed hair.

Detectives have now released CCTV which identifies a dark coloured Toyota Rav 4 in convoy with the stolen Nissan Patrol shortly after the offence.

Investigators believe that the vehicles may have travelled together to the Mid North Coast and are now seeking further information from the public.

Anyone who may be able to identify the pair involved or may have information relating to the whereabouts of either of the vehicles should contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
