Police investigate CBD affray and stabbing

Detectives from Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit are investigating following an affray in the Melbourne CBD this morning.

Investigators have been told an altercation broke out between two groups of men at the intersection of Lonsdale Street and Hardware Lane just before 5.30am.

Three men, all aged 23, two from Melbourne and one from Doncaster East, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after they sustained stab wounds during the incident.

A group of males, all perceived to be Asian in appearance, fled the scene in two separate vehicles.

Investigators believe the parties involved are known to each other.

One of the vehicles, described as a white Toyota wagon, left the scene travelling west on Lonsdale Street.

Several witnesses were spoken to at the scene and investigators are appealing for anyone else who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have dashcam footage to contact police to assist with the investigation.
