Police investigate Collingwood North post office robbery

Detectives from Melbourne Embona Robbery Taskforce are investigating following a robbery at Collingwood business premises earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told an unknown man attended the Johnston business to collect a package for an address in Collingwood about 2.40pm on 5 July.

The male produced a false Victorian driver’s licence and as the post office employee attempted to photocopy it, the male jumped the counter and assaulted him.

He then snatched the package and left the store.

Police have released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
