Heidelberg police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision and assault in Heidelberg West last night, Victoria Police say.
Police have been told a red Toyota Yaris was seen speeding north along Oriel Road and overtook a number of cars on the right hand side of the road just after 8.30pm.
The Toyota then collided with a black Nissan SUV before crashing into a power pole.
Two male occupants in the Toyota got out of the car and were assaulted by a number of people who were in the street at the time.
The men believed to be aged 18 and early 20s were both taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The female driver of the black SUV was taken to hospital for observation.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that saw the red Toyota Yaris driving erratically prior to the collision.
