Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman at Thomastown this evening.
Investigators believe the woman was crossing the line near the Thomastown Railway Station about 6.20pm when she was struck by a train.
The yet to be identified woman, who is believed to be in her 70s, died at the scene.
