Police Investigate Deliberate Hit-run In Werribee

Westgate Divisional Response Unit officers are investigating after a pedestrian was deliberately stuck in a hit-run collision at Werribee earlier last month.

Investigators have been told a group of people were walking along Margaret Street when a vehicle mounted the footpath and drove at them about 3.45pm on Sunday 10 August.

The car struck a 15-year-old boy from the Wyndham area who was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries which required surgery.

The vehicle was driven away from the scene at a fast rate of speed.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved is an early 2000s model Honda Civic with false number plates, with a silver body and gold front bumper.

The Honda has two distinctive black stripes on the bonnet and minor red markings/panel damage to the back right side of the vehicle.

CCTV footage of the vehicle has been released in the hope someone may recognise it and be able to assist police in identifying the driver.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCT/dashcam footage or any other information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
