Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted aggravated burglary in Elwood last month.
It is understood three unknown offenders arrived at a property on Kingsley Street about 2am on Friday 5 September.
One of the trio attempted to open a locked Mercedes G wagon parked in the driveway, while a second offender attempted to open the locked front door to the residence.
The trio fled on foot once they failed to gain access to the car and home.
The first offender is perceived as Caucasian, approximately 30 years old with a medium build and was wearing white Nike shoes, black pants, a grey "Ellesse" hoody, black gloves and a blue surgical face mask.
The second offender is perceived as Caucasian, medium build and was wearing black socks with slides, black pants and a black "Ellesse" hoody.
The third offender is perceived as Caucasian with a medium to solid build and was wearing black shoes, blue jeans, a black "Geedup" hoody and a blue surgical face mask.
Investigators have released images and CCTV of three men they believe can assist with their enquiries.
