Police investigate fatal crash at Clyde

A man has died following a multi-vehicle collision in Sydney's west earlier today.

About 12.25pm (Tuesday 23 April 2019), a Holden Barina was travelling westbound on Parramatta Road, Clyde, when it crossed the median strip near the intersection of James Ruse Drive.

The Barina clipped another car in the eastbound lanes before colliding head-on with an Izuzu truck.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Barina – a 67-year-old man – and took him to hospital, where he later died.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

The driver of the Izuzu – a 28-year-old man – spoke with police at the scene before undergoing mandatory testing.

Police are investigating whether the Barina driver suffered a medical episode prior to the collision.
