Police investigate fatal shooting - Wentworthville

Inquiries are continuing into the fatal shooting of a man in Sydney's west.

About 8pm yesterday (Monday 29 June 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Jones Street at Wentworthville, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

He died at the scene.

Police have been told an unknown man entered the home and shot the 44-year-old.

Another man, aged 41, was also in the house and confronted the gunman; however, he managed to flee.

It's believed he left the area in a white or grey car.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene, which continues to be forensically examined.

An investigation into the shooting is continuing, with local detectives being assisted by officers from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
