Police Investigate Fatal Single-Car Crash in Barraba

A man has died following a single vehicle crash in the state's New England region.

About 11.45pm yesterday (Saturday 24 January 2026) police were called to Macintrye Road, Barraba – about 90km north of Tamworth – following reports a vehicle had left the road and crashed.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – believed to be a 25-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District established a crime scene which has now been forensically examined.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
