Police Investigate Firearms Theft in Hunter Valley

Detectives have released CCTV as an investigation continues into a break and enter in the Hunter Valley.

On Tuesday 16 September 2025, police were called to a home in Blandford following reports of a break and enter.

At the scene, police were told that a group of people allegedly forced entry to a property before stealing building products, tools, and firearms.

As a result, detectives attached to Hunter Valley Police District established Strike Force Sena to investigate the incident.

On Tuesday 14 October 2025, detectives charged the alleged owner of the firearms – a 78-year-old man – with not prevent theft/loss of firearm, and not keep firearm safely. He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Scone Local Court on Wednesday 10 December 2025. He is due to next appear before the same court on Wednesday 14 January 2026

On Wednesday 15 October 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Satur Road, Scone.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized several building supplies and tools that had allegedly been stolen.

So far, two people have been charged in relation to the incident:

  • On Tuesday 18 November 2025, detectives attended a correctional centre in Silverwater where they charged a 40-year-old man with steal firearm or imitation firearm, steal property in dwelling, possess unauthorised firearm, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime. He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 19 November 2025. He was refused bail and will next appear before Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 21 January 2026.
  • On Tuesday 9 December 2025, detectives attended a correctional centre in Silverwater where they charged a 29-year-old woman with possess unauthorised firearm, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime. She was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 10 December 2025. She was refused bail and will next appear before Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 21 January 2026.

Detectives are working to identify others involved in the incident and have now released CCTV that depicts a group of people who might be able to assist with inquiries.
