Police investigate Kerang sexual assault

Swan Hill Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team are appealing for public assistance after a woman was sexually assaulted in Kerang earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a 30-year-old woman was walking along Park Road about 1-2am on Saturday 11 February.

As she walked under a footbridge which connects with Albert Street she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.

The victim managed to escape her attacker and returned home.

During the ordeal the man told the victim that he had just left a hotel in Kerang.

The offender is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, unshaven, scruffy in appearance, short and with a solid build.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a baseball cap and denim shorts.

Anyone who has information about the incident or the man’s identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
