Police investigate Kew licensed premises assault

Boroondara police are investigating an assault which occurred at a licensed premises in Kew in May, Victoria Police say.

Officers have been told that two men were involved in a verbal altercation inside the premises on High Street, Kew about 8.30pm on 31 May.

The altercation escalated and the offender punched the victim to the face while holding a beer glass.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from Kew, suffered a cut to the chin.

The victim and offender then traded a number of blows before the offender was ejected from the premises by security.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian, 175cm tall, with short dark hair and had a three day growth.

Investigators have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
