Police Investigate Prahran Hit-run

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a hit-run collision in Prahran.

It is understood a navy-blue Toyota Rav4 was travelling west on High Street when it struck a woman at a pedestrian crossing about 1.15am on Saturday, 13 December.

The 27-year-old pedestrian was walking south on the eastern side of Chapel Street and had begun to cross High Street when she was struck.

Officers were told the driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and fled at a fast rate of speed.

The victim from Clyde North was taken to hospital with serious upper body injuries.

The driver remains outstanding, and police are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to check their dashcams.

CCTV footage of the Toyota has been released in the hope someone may recognise it and be able to assist police in identifying the driver.
