Police investigate road rage incident - Glenorchy, TAS

Glenorchy CIB is investigating a road rage incident this morning where a firearm was discharged, Tasmania Police say.

Detective Acting Inspector David Gill reassured members of the public, saying there was no threat to the wider community.

"The incident was as a result of an ongoing feud between two parties known to each other. Police are following a particular line of inquiry in relation to this," he said.

"As a result of investigations this morning, police can confirm that a gold Holden Astra and a green Hyundai Sonata were involved in the incident.

"Police can also confirm that an occupant of the green Hyundai Sonata discharged a firearm at the other vehicle.

"No one was injured and no complaint by the occupants of the vehicle that was shot at has been made to police.

"However, as a result of speaking to witnesses, Police recovered the offending vehicle at Bridgewater earlier this afternoon."

Police would ask anyone with information relating to this incident to contact Glenorchy CIB on 131444 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers.
