Ballarat detectives are investigating a series of burglaries committed at a number of Ballarat businesses overnight, Victoria Police say.

Investigators are investigating six burglaries at business premises which included two supermarkets, a bowling club, a take-away café, a hairdressing salon and a service station.

The first burglary was committed at a Sturt Street hairdressers just before 1am with the last burglary, at a Sebastopol bowling club, being committed around 5am.

Money and cigarettes were stolen during the burglaries but police are waiting for owners to provide them with more detailed inventories.
