Police have arrested a man following an alleged serious assault at Rockhampton early yesterday morning, June 8.
Initial investigation indicate around 2am, a 35-year-old Norman Gardens man and a 48-year-old Berserker man entered into a verbal altercation at East Street.
Its then alleged the 35-year-old man physically assaulted the 48-year-old man, causing him to fall onto concrete and striking his head.
Patrolling officers were alerted to the altercation and attended a short time later, where they took the 35-year-old man into custody.
The 48-year-old man was transported to Rockhampton Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The 35-year-old Norman Gardens man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
He is due to reappear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 16.
