Police Investigate Serious Assault At Manunda 24 May

Police are investigating a serious assault at Manunda overnight, May 23.

Around 11pm, two men and a woman attended a unit complex on James Street, where a 46-year-old man was allegedly struck on the head with a piece of timber after answering the door.

The man was transported to Cairns Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crime scenes have been declared at two units within the complex.

Three people were subsequently taken into custody and are assisting police with inquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
