Gippsland Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are investigating a serious sexual assault which occurred in Traralgon earlier this month, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told the victim was at an entertainment venue in Kay Street on Friday 15 September.
She left the premises about 4am with a man that she had spoken to earlier in the night and who told her that her friends were outside waiting for her.
The man walked with the victim to the car park before seriously sexually assaulting her.
He quickly left when the victim’s friends attended the car park.
Police have released images of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
