Police investigate sexual assault in Wantirna South

Knox Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are appealing for public assistance in identifying an offender following a sexual assault at a Wantirna South shopping Centre on 15 December.

Investigators have been told a man entered a clothing store and was approached by a female staff member to see if he needed assistance about 1pm.

The man spoke to the victim, before sexually assaulting her and leaving.

Detectives have released CCTV and images of a man who may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

The offender is perceived to be of Indian sub-continental in appearance, aged in his 50s, about 152cm tall with dark hair and eyes.

He was wearing a large blue coat, blue jeans and brown runners.
