Police are appealing for public assistance following an assault which occurred in Seymour on Wednesday night.
Officers have been told a man and a woman were seen assaulting another man in Anzac Avenue about 10.30pm.
They left the scene before police arrival.
Emergency services arrived a short time later and a 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries.
The area was searched by officers but the man and woman were not located.
