Police Investigate South Yarra Arson

Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad are investigating a suspicious fire at a cosmetic shop in South Yarra on 10 July.

Emergency services responded to reports of a man setting a fire at a shop near the intersection of Toorak Road and Caroline Street about 11.15pm.

No one was inside the shop at the time of the fire.

Despite a thorough search of the area the offender was not located.

A crime scene has been established and an arson chemist will attend the scene this morning.

Police believe the incident was targeted and will investigate any potential links to any other incidents.

The investigation into the motive behind the incident remains ongoing.
