Police investigate stabbings - Bidwill

Police are investigating a string of incidents in Sydney's west last night, which have left multiple people injured.

About 5.30pm (Saturday 8 June 2019), officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended a home on Dieffenbach Place, Bidwill, following reports of a fight outside the home.

Police have been told two cars arrived, and a fight has taken place between the multiple occupants and a group of people outside the home.

A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for serious head injuries, and a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds, where they both remain in serious but stable conditions.

About 5.50pm, police conducting unrelated duties located a Magna sedan on Luxford Road, Mt Druitt, and spoke with its driver.

Acting on suspicions the male driver and vehicle may have been linked to the earlier incident, the 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly becoming aggressive and throwing punches towards police, and he was taken to Riverstone Police Station.

About 11.30pm, emergency services were called to a unit-block on Kidd Close, Bidwill after reports of a stabbing.

A 15-year-old boy was located with stab wounds, before he was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police have been told a car arrived outside the unit-block, and a fight has taken place between the occupants and a group – including the 15-year-old boy – outside the units.

A short time later, officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command initiated a pursuit with a Ford Falcon – believed to be linked to the recent Bidwill incident – after it was stopped on Bougainville Road, Lethbridge Park, however then fled.

After the Ford stopped on Semaphore Crescent at Ropes Crossing, three males got out and fled the scene on foot, and were unable to be located. The car was seized for forensic examination.

The police operation coordinated by Mt Druitt police was assisted by PolAir, the Dog Unit, and Public Order and Riot Squad.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate three males only described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, and urge anyone who sees them not to approach but to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

As inquiries continue, the groups involved are believed to be known to each other.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
