Police investigate Sunshine North stabbing

A 26-year-old man has suffered injuries after a stabbing in Sunshine North, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told the man offered three women a lift from Richmond to Sunshine North last night.

He drove the group to Heron Avenue and parked on the side of the road about 9.50pm.

Investigators believe the woman have then threatened the driver and attempted to steal his car.

A physical altercation has occurred and the 26-year-old was stabbed a number of times.

He ran from the scene and made his way to McIntyre Road where emergency services were called.

He has been taken to hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating and at this stage no arrests have been made.
