Man Arrested After Fatal Wagga Wagga Stabbing

A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed in the state's south yesterday.

About 11.45am on Saturday 19 September 2026, emergency services responded to reports that a woman had been stabbed at a home on Ziegler Avenue, Kooringal, a suburb of Wagga Wagga.

NSW Ambulance paramedics and officers from the Riverina Police District performed CPR on a 23-year-old woman; however, she died at the home.

Police were informed a man had left the location prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Another man - aged 18 - was arrested at the scene and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was later released without charge.

All parties are believed to be known to one another.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

About 8.30 pm on Saturday (19 September 2026), police arrested a 31-year-old man at a home on Menzies Avenue, Kooringal.

He has been taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where inquiries continue.
