Police investigate suspicious house fire in Glenorchy, TAS

Glenorchy CIB is calling for information as part of their investigation into a suspicious house fire in Tolosa St, Glenorchy, yesterday afternoon, Tasmania Police say.

Around 4:10pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017, emergency services were called to a structure fire at 31 Tolosa Street, Glenorchy.  Members of the Tasmania Fire Service attended and were able to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

A fire scene examination was conducted by members of the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police. As a result of the examination, police believe the fire at the property was deliberately lit.

The property is privately owned and tenanted, however, the tenant was not home at the time of the fire.  Damage is estimated at $300,000.

Police are urging anyone with any information about the fire or saw anything suspicious in Tolosa Street to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
