Police investigate triple fatality - Central Coast

A woman and two children have died in a crash on the state's Central Coast overnight.

Shortly before 10pm (Tuesday 21 September 2021), a vehicle - being driven by a woman with five children on board – was travelling on Wisemans Ferry Road, Central Mangrove.

As the vehicle approached Nurses Road it's left the roadway and crashed down an embankment.

The woman and two children – aged 2 and 8 – died at the scene.

A further three children were treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where they remain in stable conditions.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are also on scene and will conduct a full investigation.

Part of those inquiries include a motorist, who was travelling on Wisemans Ferry Road shortly after the crash, who may have hit one of the children who was on the road. He has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Wisemans Ferry Road, near Nurses Road will remain closed for some time with local diversions in place.
