Police investigate two stabbings in Melton

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives will investigate two stabbings in Melton West and Melton South on Sunday, 4 September.

Emergency services responded to an incident at the intersection of Coburns Road and Barries Road in Melton West around 8.30pm.

A 15-year-old Melton boy sustained what is believed to be a stab wound to his stomach.

He was transported to hospital and with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services also responded to an incident at the intersection of Station Road and Brooklyn Road in Melton South around 8.30pm.

A 15-year-old Kurunjang boy and a 17-year-old St Albans boy both sustained what are believed to be stab wounds to their stomachs.

Both boys were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incidents are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing, however police believe the incidents are linked.
