Police are appealing for information following two armed robberies in Wagga Wagga overnight.
About 12am (Monday 24 August 2020), a 47-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle in the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens carpark, when he was approached by three men who were not known to him.
As the man left his vehicle, one of the unknown men pushed him to the ground and made threats, before assaulting him and taking his mobile phone.
The 47-year-old man fled on foot and took shelter outside a nearby residence.
A short time later, a man and woman, both aged 21, were sitting in a red Lexus NX200t on the opposite side of the carpark, when they were approached by three unknown men.
One of the men opened the driver's door, armed with a tyre iron, while the second opened the passenger's door and punched the 21-year-old man in the face.
The 21-year-old man was forced from the vehicle and threatened with a knife, before one of the men took his wallet and mobile phone.
The men then forced the woman from the car and stole her mobile phone and the Lexus.
The 21-year-old man sustained cuts to his face and did not require treatment. The woman was not physically harmed.
Officers from Riverina Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen a white Mitsubishi sedan in the area around the time of the incidents, to come forward.
