Police Investigating After Armed Robbery At Newcastle

An investigation is underway following an armed robbery at a business in Mayfield last night.

About 11.30pm yesterday (Monday 18 August 2025), police were called to a fast-food store on Maitland Road, Mayfield, following reports of an armed robbery.

At the scene, police were told two males entered the store and threatened staff with a firearm, demanding money.

The pair took cash before fleeing and police attached to Newcastle City Police District were notified.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

A crime scene was established and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway.
