An investigation is underway following the discovery of a body in St Georges Basin earlier today.
Emergency services were called to a property just off Island Point Road shortly after 9am (Wednesday 29 April 2020), following reports the body of a man was found floating face down in the water behind the house.
Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
While he is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be a Shoalhaven man aged in his 30s.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
