An investigation is underway after a man died following a stabbing in Sydney's inner south.
About 7.20pm today (Tuesday 18 August 2026), emergency services were called to a unit on Pitt Street, Waterloo, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command attended and found man had been stabbed.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition.
About 8.45pm, police were informed the man had died in hospital.
While yet to be formally identified, the man is believed to be aged in his 30s.
A woman who was also in the unit at the time was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
A crime scene was established, and South Sydney Detectives commenced an investigation into the incident, with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
