Police investigating after firearm discharged in Longford overnight

Police in Launceston are appealing to the public for information after a firearm was discharged towards a home in Wellington Street, Longford overnight.

Police were called to the residence about 1am on Monday, 13 January after the firearm was shot through a front window.

Initial investigations indicate that the firearm was shot by a person travelling past the house in a dark-coloured utility or 4WD vehicle.

Three people were home at the time of the incident, no one was injured.

Anyone with information or who saw a dark coloured dual cab utility or similar 4WD vehicle in the area of Wellington Street and Illawarra Road, Longford around 1am on Monday is asked to contact police.
