Police investigating after hydroponic set-up located at house fire - Merrylands

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a sophisticated hydroponic set-up, which was located following a house fire in Merrylands overnight.

About 12.10am today (Saturday 6 November 2021), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to reports of a house fire on Barbara Crescent, Merrylands.

On arrival, police located the house well alight.

NSW Fire & Rescue officers extinguished the fire a short time later; however, significant damage was caused to the house.

No one was located in the premises.

Police and NSW Fire & Rescue officers inspected the damaged house and located a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis setup.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the incident continue.
