Police investigating after supermarket break-in - Pemulwuy

Police are investigating after cigarettes were stolen during a break-in at a Western Sydney supermarket in the early hours of this morning.

About 2.45am (Sunday 1 March 2020), police responded following reports of a break-in at a supermarket on Butu Wargun Drive, Pemulwuy.

Initial reports indicate three people broke into the front of the store and stole cigarettes.

While the group were in the store, the smoke screen was activated, which triggered the fire alarm, and Fire and Rescue NSW responded.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Local detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the break-in and are appealing for anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact police.
