Police are investigating an incident at a Trevallyn property last night where a woman sustained a bullet wound to her leg, Tasmania Police say.
Around 6pm police were called to a property on New World Avenue in relation to a firearms incident.
On arrival, police located a 47-year-old Newnham woman at the address who had sustained a single bullet wound to the leg.
The woman was transported to the Launceston General Hospital where she has undergone surgery and is in a stable condition.
Police would like to speak to anyone with information that would assist their ongoing investigation, in particular anyone who may have heard gunshots in the last few days in the area of New World Avenue.
