Police investigating wounding at Spring Hill 28 October

Police have charged a 39-year-old Spring Hill man following an alleged wounding overnight in Spring Hill (October 27).

Around 9.20pm police were called to an address on Boundary Street in response to reports of an assault.

It will be alleged the 39-year-old Spring Hill man stabbed a 23-year-old Spring Hill man in the stomach area with an unknown bladed weapon following an earlier verbal altercation.

The 39-year-old man allegedly left the scene on foot and was located by police a short time later and taken into custody.

Both men are known to each other and reside at separate addresses in the same building.

The 23-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

The 39-year-old man was charged with one count each of wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm. He is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today (October 28).

Investigations are ongoing.
