Police investigation ongoing into armed robbery at Sandy Bay pharmacy

The police investigation is ongoing in relation to the armed robbery at the Discount Pharmacy on Sandy Bay Road around 2.55pm last Saturday afternoon.

During the robbery, a woman entered the pharmacy armed with a syringe and needle and threatened staff. She was provided with a quantity of medications before she fled the store and was last seen turning left towards King Street.

The woman is described as early-mid 30s, around 160cm tall, light-medium build with dark brown straight hair tied up in a ponytail or bun. She was wearing a black baseball cap, navy blue top with white stripes down the sleeves, light grey track pants and white sneakers.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

Anyone with information in relation to the robbery or saw the woman in the area around the time is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
