Police-Involved Shooting in Thuringowa Central

Police have charged a 29-year-old man involved in an incident at Thuringowa Central on 27 July.

The 29-year-old Kelso man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, threats, possessing dangerous drugs, fail to property dispose of needle and syringe, two counts of publishing or possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, authority required to possess explosives and two counts of receiving tainted property.

The weapons and explosive offences relate to an earlier alleged incident.

The man is expected to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on 5 August.

The incident on 27 July remains under investigation by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
