Police launch investigation into armed robbery - Albion Park

An investigation is underway following an armed robbery in Albion Park earlier today.

About 8.15am (Monday 11 January 2020), an unknown man attended a takeaway food outlet at a shopping complex on Terry Street, Albion Park.

The man, who was allegedly armed with a firearm, demanded cash from a female employee, before fleeing on foot towards Russell Street.

The employee complied and was not physically harmed as a result of the incident.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with strawberry blond hair, aged in his early 20s, and was wearing black pants, a dark blue hooded jumper and a blue mask.
