Police launch investigation into malicious damage at school at Eden

An investigation is underway after a school at Eden was forced to close for the day for investigation and clean up after malicious damage to a number of classrooms.

Shortly after 5pm yesterday (Sunday 9 November 2020), police were called to a school on Imlay Street, Eden, following reports of people on the roof throwing rocks at windows.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended a short time later and found several classroom windows smashed.

Two boys were seen by police inside one of the classrooms, before they fled on foot in a southerly direction along Imlay Street, Eden.

Police located a 10-year-old boy at the intersection of Bass and Imlay Street, Eden. A second boy, aged 13, presented himself to police in the presence of his parents a short time later.

Both boys are currently assisting police with inquiries.

A crime scene was established at the school, which has been closed today due to extensive damage to classrooms.

Investigations are continuing.
