Police launch investigation into suspicious house fire at Narrabri

An investigation is underway after fire destroyed a house in the state’s north west over the weekend.

About 2.15am on Saturday 15 January 2022, emergency services were called to a home on Genanagie Street, Narrabri, following reports of a fire.

NSW Fire and Rescue arrived a short time later and extinguished the blaze; however, the home was destroyed.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed suspicious activity to come forward.
