Police Lay Armed Robbery Charge At Slacks Creek

Police have charged a teenage boy following the alleged armed robbery of a rideshare driver at Slacks Creek on 14 July.

It will be alleged that around 4.45pm, a rideshare driver had transported a passenger to a business on the Pacific Highway.

After the vehicle stopped, the passenger allegedly produced a knife and threatened the driver before demanding the keys to the vehicle.

Police will allege the driver moved away from the vehicle as the teenager attempted to take it, however, was unable to start the car before fleeing the scene on foot.

The driver was not physically injured during the incident.

Officers located and arrested a 17-year-old boy at a nearby Slacks Creek address.

He has been charged with one count of robbery while armed.

The teenager was granted bail and is due to appear before the Beenleigh Children's Court on 27 July.
