Bayside detectives have charged a 37-year-old man following an investigation into an armed robbery of a convenience store in Wynnum on May 25.
Police will allege at approximately 9.30am, a man entered the Glenora Street business and made verbal threats towards an 18-year-old male employee while armed with a box cutter knife.
It is alleged a quantity of cash was stolen and the man attempted to steal cigarettes before making further verbal threats towards the employee. He then fled on foot.
Detectives conducted extensive investigations which led to the identification of a man.
On June 13, a search warrant was conducted at a Randal Road address in Wynnum West.
Detectives seized several items included the box cutter knife which is alleged to have been used during the offence.
The man was subsequently arrested later that day.
A 37-year-old Wynnum West man has been charged with one count of robbery armed.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court on June 23.
