Police Lay Armed Robbery Charges At Warana

Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery in Warana last week.

It is alleged that around 11.04 pm on 15 May, the man assaulted a taxi driver and damaged the vehicle at Melody Court.

It is further alleged the man attempted to flee the scene with the driver's property but was taken into police custody following a struggle nearby.

A 44-year-old Warana man has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, armed robbery, wilful damage, and serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm.

He is expected to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 15 June.
