Police lay armed robbery charges at Yeerongpilly

Police have charged six teenagers after they allegedly assaulted a man and stole his phone, wallet and watch at Yeerongpilly last night.

It will be alleged at 11.25pm on Friday night a 24-year-old Yeronga man was walking on a pedestrian bridge off Fairfield Road when he approached six teenagers. The teenagers surrounded the man and one of them held a knife to the man's throat. They demanded his wallet, phone and watch and after he complied, they kicked the man in the back.

The man flagged down a passer-by and police located the six boys nearby a short time later.

Six boys aged between 13 and 17 from Logan have all been charged with armed robbery in company and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

The victim was treated at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for a small cut to his neck.
