Police lay arson charge, Kinkuna

Bundaberg detectives have charged a man following investigations into several fires that were allegedly deliberately lit on December 6.

At around 3pm the pilot of an aircraft heading to Bundaberg to refuel after fighting fires at Fraser Island, sighted multiple fires burning in the Burrum Coast National Park.

Upon further investigation a suspect vehicle was sighted in the vicinity.

Police investigations into the incident resulted in a 28-year-old Branyan man being charged with setting fire to vegetation. He will appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on January 18.
